Our Facility

Waihi Lifecare is a historic and much-loved icon of the Waihi Township.  Since 2018, it has been under the ownership of the Wallace and Spreadborough-Watson families.

The dynamic and experienced partnership is very passionate about the history of this iconic building. Helen Watson, in particular, has an emotional attachment with three generations of relatives born in the maternity annex, and her grandparents have spent their final days there.

Waihi Lifecare provides 24 hour care for those who can no longer manage safely in their own home, providing hospital services, rest home, respite and palliative care. Surrounding the main buildings are 25 gorgeous cottages for independent living.

Together the partnership, along with their team of staff, look forward to developing Waihi Lifecare and bringing this beautiful historic landmark building back to life. The aim is to grow it into one of New Zealand’s most respected boutique facilities that will be a pleasure to live and work in.

We welcome tours of the facility and look forward to showing you or your loved ones through. To avoid disappointment, please contact us to book.
